Small 4°: [6], 752 pp., [1] errata, contemporary grey smooth polished calf with gilt embossed and turquoise title on cover and spine, tricolour fore-edge colouring and tooling, marbled endpapers (Very Good, binding slightly scuffed on edges, title on cover misspelled).
This detailed scientific work, issued by the Institute for Slavic Studies at the University of Paris was bound in a highly decorative art-deco binding and ornated with fore-edge colour and tooling. The binding, with misspelled title on the cover, was probably made in Yugoslavia an the early 1930s.
Émile Haumant (1859-1942) was a French Slavic linguist and historian. He was a honorary professor at the University of Paris, specialised in Russia and Yugoslavia.
