Description

An ephemeral invoice for a hotel at Oberpolliger in the center of Munich, was dated December 19th, 1871.

The image showcases the Neuhauser Strasse in the center of Munich and the Karlstor, which was erected in neogothic style in 1861 and 1962. The view was made only a few years before the arrival of the streetcars.

Oberpollinger is a department store in the center of Munich. It is called after a brewery, founded in 1884 by Christoph Pollinger. The hotel, which existed on the place in the late 19th century changed several owners until it was closed in 1903.
