Description

This is an early and only reprint of the texts, published in an underground Slovenian Communist magazine in 1943, during WWII. The book also includes reproductions of the titles and illustrations, as well as the flyers and caricatures.

The magazine Ljudska pravica (Right of the Nation) was being published from 1934-1939. The first edition after the pause was published in 1943 as an underground Partisan magazine during WWII.

The designer of the book was architect Vlasto Kopač (1914-2006), a pupil of Jože Plečnik and an active Communist. He spent WWII in the Dachau concentration camp as political prisoner. In the late 1940s, after the Tito-Stalin fallout, he was declared a political prisoner again and was sentenced to death, a penalty, which later changed to 20 years of hard work. He was pardoned in 1952. Kopač was also known for his post WWII hiking maps.

The book is very rare, because of the fallout of Yugoslavia with other Communistic countries in 1948, when most of the examples were be destroyed and one of the authors was imprisoned for his political beliefs.

We could only find five examples of the book in institutions worldwide (3 in Slovenia, one in Trieste and one in Klagenfurt). Original war editions are extremely rare today and only appear sporadicaly.
