Description

The catalogue was published in 1966 and is presenting linocuts by Božidar Jakac, France Mihelic, Nikolaj Pirnat, Dore Klemencic – Maj, Nande Vidmear, Drago Vidmar, Alenka Gerlovic, Vito Globocnik and Ive Šubic. These artist were active as illustrators of the underground Parisan printing press during the WW II in Slovenia, Yugoslavia. The images show the life of Partisans, secret hospitals, burned villages, fights, skeletons, attaked families etc.

The autograph by Božidar Jakac (1899 – 1989), one of the most famous Yugoslav artists of the 20th century, is dated January 27th, 1967. During WW II he was active in the Partisan army and produced most famous portrait of Marchall Tito.
