Description

A detailed history of the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria in Bulgarian language, printed in Istanbul.

This unusual Bulgarian school history book includes a history of the Ottoman Empire and was printed for the Bulgarian minority in the Ottoman Empire. The rear cover is printed in Ottoman and showcases Sultan Mehmed V.

Although Bulgaria declared its independency in 1908, large Bulgarian population stayed in the Ottoman Empire, where they gathered around the Orthodox church and their own educational institutions.
