A charming pamphlet with short stories and poems for children in Slovenian language was published as a reading exercise book for children in 1939. The stories are written in various scripts as a didactic method.
The first edition of this beloved pamphlet was published in 1938, and then in revised editions in 1939 and 1940. The one and only post war edition was issued in 1945.
The simple illustrations were made by an academic artist Maksim Sedej (1909-1974)
Ciciban is a Slovenian synonym for a curious toddler, first used in a collection of poems for children by a beloved writer Otona Župančič in 1915.
