Description

A rare translation of Lenin’s texts on the unification and protection of the Muslims in the Soviet Union was published in Tashkent and Samarkand in 1926. The book includes articles, published between 1903 and 1919.

In his speeches Lenin addressed “the Muslims of Russia, the Volga and the Crimean Tatars, the Siberian and Turkestan Kyrgyz and Conditions, the Turks of the Beyond the Caucasus, the Chechens and the Caucasian mountains” to support the Communism and the newly founded Soviet Union.

In reality the Turkic nations were of divided opinion regarding the Communism. As some sided with the new government in hope to gain more rights than in the Tsarist Russia, the ones, who opposed the new regime, were prosecuted, murdered or expelled.
