The richly illustrated glossy magazine in Ottoman Script with parts in French was published in 100 issues between 1909 and 1914 and it included articles on the modern lifestyle, fashion, sporting events, news from all over the world, and political events. It also included poetry and short prose.

The magazines included modern black and white advertisements for mostly vanity products. The targeted audience was a growing population of bourgeoisie of mixed origins in Istanbul, especially women. The articles on sometimes quite daring fashion, modern female writers and illustrated current events were keeping the more and more emancipated women of Constantinople informed about the events in the world. The highly decorative illustrations were often enriched with elaborate modern colour printing.

The owner and editor of the magazine was Hüseyin Saadeddin Arel (1880–1955), who was a lawyer and a known composer.
