This is an uncommon privately published Esperanto translation of a short story from Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, published by a private Esperanto press in Spain. The book is decoratively illustrated with green and brown illustrations and vignettes.
The translator and publisher of the book Lluís Hernández Yzal (1917 – 2002) was a Spanish Esperantist and a founder of the Esperanto Museum of (Museo Español de Esperanto) in Sant Pau d’Ordal, Subirats, in the province of Barcelona.
A chromolithographed cover was illustrated by a Spanish artist Rafael Raga Montesinos (1910-1985), who was famous for his advertisement and movie posters. During Spanish Civil War he was a member of Alliance of Antifascist Intellectuals, and he painted several antifascist posters.
In 1953, a movie El curioso impertinente, based on a story from Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes was released in Spain, what probably contributed to the popularity of this chapter from the book.
