Description
Marie Under (1883 –1980) was one of the greatest Estonian poets, who was nominated for the Nobel prize in literature eight times. During WWII she escaped to Sweden, where she lived until her death in 1980.
Esperanto was forbidden during WWII by the Nazis, who considered it a language of the Bolsheviks and Jews. In Mein Kampf Adolf Hitler wrote the language could be used for an international Jewish conspiracy.
