Description

The text in Croatian language analyses the reaction of women from various social circles, when answering the man’s question “Am I the first one?”. The title of the book refers to a problem, if it is morally correct for a woman to lie and pretend, that she is still a virgin. The conclusion is, that in such cases hiding the truth about former lovers is acceptable, as every man likes hearing, that he is the first special one.

This is a Croatian translation of a work Darf die Frau lügen? Eine sexual-psycholog. Studie (Is It Allowed for a Woman Lie? A Sexual-Psychological Study), originally published in German language in Leipzig and Vienna in 1922.

J. C. Schlegel was an Austrian author of various books on progressive sexuality and editor of a Vienna-based adult newspaper “Du und Ich” (You and I).

We could not find any institutional examples on Worldcat. Also the German version is exceedingly rare and is only recorded in one institution (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek, Leipzig).
