Description

An early passport for a voyage to Jerusalem was made in 1872 for one Jaquemond Raoul from Lyon, who was likely either travelling to the Holy Land on pilgrimage or perhaps he was a memeber of one of the multiple scientific expeditions, that were taking place in the region at the time.

The manuscript annotations and stamps on the back reveal he was travelling there and back through Syria and was returning through Constantinople on 22th October of the same year.
