Description
An attractive map of Israel, made in the late 1950s or early 1960s, was sponsored by Bank Leumi Le-Israel and given for free to tourists. The text on the back gives base information on the country for the visitors.
The map was drafted by a Leipzig-born female designer Friedel Stern (1917 – 2006), who immigrated to Palestine in 1936. Stern designed some legendary Israeli mid-century maps and illustrations and was also working actively as a journalist.
