Description
A rare book on gynecology in Ottoman script with editions in French was written by a medical doctor Dr. Behzat, who was previously employed in hospitals in Adana and Diyarbakır, but was at the time of the publication working in Baghdad.
The book, which is divided in two parts includes almost 200 blank pages for annotations, was published only in 20 examples for a symposium in Istanbul, which at the end did not take place, and all the copies were for sale at the doctor’s address in Baghdad.
In the same year Dr. Behzat published his more famous work Tıbbi-Cerrahi Kadın Hastalıkları (Medical-Surgical Gynecology)
Worldcat records one institutional example (Bibliothèque interuniversitaire de santé – PARIS-UP BIU Santé Médecine).
