A contemporary short biography of Claude Montal (28 July 1800 – 7 March 1865), a French pianist, the author of the first comprehensive text on piano tuning and repair, “l’Art d’accorder soi-même son piano…” and a major ppiano manufactor, who was blind since his early age.

The second text on famous blind in the world of arts and literature is the continuation of the first one.

The texts were first published in Annales de l’éducation des sourds-muets et des aveugles.
