Description
Ottoman Linguistics
An uncommon treatise on the Ottoman linguistics and prosody was written by an Ottoman scholar Saçaklızâde Muhammed Efendi (died 1732)
Although his name is often not connected with this work, a manuscript at the Ankara National Library (A 7499/4) is a proof of the authorship. Saçaklızâde Muhammed Efendi authored numberless works on religion, law, debate and sciences (Tahsin Ozcan, Saçaklizâde Mehmed Efendi (d. 1145/1732), Islam Ansiklopedisi (SAÇAKLIZÂDE MEHMED EFENDİ – TDV İslâm Ansiklopedisi (islamansiklopedisi.org.tr))).
Worldcat lists one institutional example (University of California, Los Angeles).
