Description

A magnificent long panorama, as seen from the Ljubljana castle, marks all the important places and mountains, as well as directions oft he cities, as far as Belgrade. 

The panorama was made by a Slovenian academic painter Peter Žmitek (1874-1935), who was schooled at the Art Academies in Ljubljana, Vienna, Prague and Sankt Petersburg. After a successful career as an Impressionist painter, he almost retired from the public life after WWI. This panorama was made at the time of his living in Ljubljana, where he died in 1935.
