Description
The first edition of a Polish novel with a stunning post-art deco cover was written by a Polish sailing activist and an author Stanisław Zenon Zakrzewski (1890–1976), who was an author of the first Polish post-war yachting handbook Druh wiatr.
Zakrzewski was active in the advertising industry and published his first book in 1920s. He was arrested by the Gestapo in 1939 and spent the war in prison.
The cover design was made by a Polish graphic designer Zygmunt Kosmowski, known mostly for his posters and advertisements.
Our example of the book was signed by the author and dedicated to Dr. Helena Siemianowicz.
We could not find any examples outside Polish libraries.
