The first edition of a scientific illustrated geological book on the Tatras was written by a Polish foremost expert on the subject Edward PASSENDORFER (1894-1984). The brilliant cover design was made by a Polish academic artist Konstanty Maria Sopoćko (1903-1992), possibly still as a student, who would later become a prominent designer, printer and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

8°. 118 pp. with black and white illustrations, XVI plates, [2 pp.], original illustrated wrappers (wrappers with minor foxing, old small rubber stamp with a price on the rear cover, old owner’s stamps on the cover and title page, otherwise in a good condition.
