Description
A rare separately published map of Poznan was printed in 1938, on the eve of WWII. Marked are all the streets, as well as 11 tram and 4 bus lines.
The map was made by the Association of Christian Paper Merchants of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poznan. Old annotations in colour pencils mark connections between churches in the centre and different private houses.
The map was made only months before the beginning of WWII. Between 1939 and 1945 Poznan was under the German occupation, under which many inhabitants, especially Jewish ones, were moved or murderer. The war left much of the city in ruins.
