Description
The first edition of a Slovenian social problem novel describes a life of the workers on the suburbs. A dust-jacked with photomontage, made by Marjan Trelc, showcases the life in cottages on the suburbs of Ljubljana and the modern buildings of the city center.
The prominent buildings in the lower part are the contemporary works by the architect Jože Plečnik and Nebotičnik (Skyscraper), opened in the same year of the publication of this book. The Skyscraper was at the time the highest building in Yugoslavia and the ninth-tallest high-rise in Europe.
Miško Kranjec (1908-1983) was a popular writer and cultural worker. Me was mostly known for his social motifs.
We could find three examples outside Slovenian institutions (two in Austria and Universitätsbibliothek Würzburg).
