Description

An exceedingly rare publication by a Russian church in Istanbul represents the Russian Monastery of St. Nicholas on Mount-Athos and buildings related to the Russian community in Istanbul. It was published in a series Russians in Bosporus (Russkie na Bosfore).

The pamphlet was printed for the Russian immigrants after the Revolution, most of them who had to fight poverty in Istanbul. The first page represents an improvised church in a tent, erected for Russian refugees.

We could not trace any institutional examples on Worldcat.
