Description

Map shows Europe and the Middle East, as a World described by the holy writers. In the lower part a “modern” map of the World, as known in the early 17th century. This first edition of this map appeared only in two editions of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (1598 and 1601) and was replaced by another version in the later editions. This copy comes from the Latin edition of 1601.
