A rare map in Italian language showcases the newly self-declared country of Serbia in 1876. In the same year Serbia, sided with the ongoing Christian uprisings in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria, declared war on the Ottoman Empire.
The map was possibly published in a magazine on the Turkish-Serbian War, Giornale della guerra Turco-Serba. Pubblicazione illustrata popolare [A Journal on the Turco-Serbian War. Illustrated Popular News], issued weekly in Genova.
We could not find any other examples of the map in libraries nor on the market. Worldcat also does not list any institutional examples of the weekly Giornale della guerra Turco-Serba.
