Description
This is a rare second translation of Hamlet to Ottoman, made it the time of the Turkish Republic. The first translation was made in 1908 by Abdullah Cevdet (1869-1932) and published in Cairo to avoid the censorship. The work was banned under the Ottoman Empire, as it portrayed a fall of a leader.
Worldcat lists three institutional examples (California State University, Boğaziçi University Library, Orient-Institut Istanbul).
