Description
A scarce complete set of richly illustrated, originally separately published pamphlets on modern spiritism, ghosts, hypnosis, demons, hypnosis etc. in Ottoman language.
The author of the book was Hasan Bedreddin (1870-1926), here signed under a pseudonym Hasan Merzuk, who was a prolific Ottoman translator from several languages, mostly known for the translation of Les Miserables. He no doubt based İspiritizm, Fakirizm, Manyetizm on various articles from Western books and magazines.
The publication was sold in a form of pamphlets with running numeration and a complete series, bound together, are scarce. We could only trace examples in Leiden University Libraries (OCLC 777484889, wrongly dated 1910) and Orient-Institut Istanbul (OCLC 1030934273, which probably only houses the first volume).
