Description
A large rare lithograph shows the castle Trakošćan in Croatian Zagroje, north-west from Zagreb. The castle is already shown in its today’s neogothic appearance on a hill, ornated with rare sorts of trees.
Thae castle originates from the 13th century and was enlarged in the 16th century. After its form became out of fashion, the castle was neglected until it was rebuilt to its famous neogothic form as a residence by its owner Juraj Drašković in between 1850 and 1860.
Today Trakošćan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Zagorje.
