A rare book, representing monograms in 522 combinations of Armenian letters in five various fonts.

 

Oblong small 4°.[3 pp.] with title, introduction, index and plate with 28 coats of arms, 29 pp. with 522 monograms with Armenian letters, original colour binding with lettering (cover stained and age-toned with small chips in corners, later spine, text page and page with coats of arms slightly water-stained, internally with sporadic staining, sheets loose, but overall in a good condition).

Description

An Armenian book with a handsome cover showcases 28 coats of arms of contemporary countries on one sheet, followed by 522 combinations of pairs of Armenian letters, architected in five different scripts, varying from neo-gothic and neo-Renaissance styles to Art Nouveau.

The author, who also printed the book, explains on the first text page, that the monograms, presented in the book, could be used by calligraphers, engravers, jewelers, printers and art lovers, as well as in schools and for various ornaments. The index on the next page lists combinations of all the letters, represented on the following 29 pages.
