Description

A rare religious work was dedicated to Leopold, Grand Duke of Baden (1790 – 1852) and his wife Sophie of Sweden (1801 – 1865). The money from the sales of the work was intended for the widows of school teachers and orphans of Catholic and Protestant religions.

The book, bound in elegant binding, comes from the court library of the family Fürstenberg at the Castle Donaueschingen, which was considered one of the most important libraries in Germany. The books from the collection, marked by stamps bearing recognizable stamps, were sold to libraries and at auctions between 1980 and 2001.

The work is scarce and we could trace three examples on Worldcat (Universitätsbibliothek Freiburg, BNUS – Bibliotheque Nationale Universitaire de Strasbourg, Universitätsbibliothek Basel).
