The two original drawings are first-hand accounts of the construction of roads and canals by Austro-Hungary, during its occupation of Montenegro in WWI. The drawings were probably made for a publication.

This pair of unique monochrome drawings in showcases building of railroads and a finished water canal in Montenegro, constructed by Austro-Hungary during its occupation of the country between 1916 and 1918, during WWI. 

The images were made from life and were redrawn by the author in Leipzig, probably for a publication. We were not able to establish which publication the images may have be published in, if any.
