Description

A colourful mid-century folding map shows the tourist attractions of Yugoslavia, with marked roads, railroads (Standard and Narrow Gauge), sea lines, spas, ski resorts, caves and historical monuments. The text on the back in German describes the characteristics of the country.  

The map was made in 1952 by a General office for foreign traffic and hotels in Belgrade in the cooperation with the Yugoslavian airline JAT, which was owned by a government of Serbia. The firm was founded in 1927 as Aeroput. It ceased operations during World War II, but resumed operating in 1947 under the name JAT (Jugoslovenski Aerotransport).

After the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991 the airline continued operating until 2013.

As shown on the in-set map, the airline was only connecting the capitals of the Yugoslavian states: Ljubljana, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Beograd, Titograd and Skopje. The only international flights were from Zagreb to Trieste, from Ljubljana to Munich, Frankfurt and Linz, and from Skopje to Athens. In the summer tourist lines opened to the coastal cities.
